Alex Anthopoulos officially kicked off the offseason with a signing.

The Atlanta Braves inked reliever Pierce Johnson to a two-year, $14.25-million contract Wednesday that includes a $7-million club option for 2026.

Johnson pitched well for the Braves following a July trade from the Colorado Rockies. The 32-year-old posted a 0.76 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 32 strikeouts in 23 2/3 innings with Atlanta.

The Braves have a number of relievers hitting free agency this winter: Joe Jiménez, Lucas Luetge, and Jesse Chavez are all set to hit the open market. Collin McHugh, Kirby Yates, and Brad Hand all have options for 2024 that will need to be decided between now and five days after the World Series ends.
